The original version of the machine was a modification on the existing unloading table required for the operation of the Wood Framing Machine Version 1. The original design had a fixed left side and a moving right side that functioned to clamp the frame, as well an additional structure added to the end of the table provided a stopping point for the frame lo allow accurate locating. The main ideas within this design were preserved in the second version of the machine; however, the mechanisms have been simplified and the structures have been improved.
